Your Home Gutter System

Posted on November 15, 2018 by Earl J. Mackie

You may not think of rain gutters as an important part of protecting your home. A properly constructed and maintained gutter system is an essential part in protecting your home from water damage.

The three major components of your home gutter system are the horizontal collectors, vertical evacuations and hardware for attaching and connecting the components. Our experts will come to your home and inspect the various sections and give you a diagnosis.

In some cases, a few simple repairs are all it takes to get your gutters working properly, such as reattaching loose collectors or repairing leaky connectors. Most gutters will need to be replaced or repaired at some point to help protect your home. If you see any cracks or splits in your gutter, take note, since even the smallest cracks can turn into much bigger ones in a short amount of time, allowing water to damage the gutters. If there is paint peeling around your gutter, or orange flecks from rust, it can mean that water is not actually being removed by the gutter and that other damage may be occurring. If you notice pools of water or mildew around your gutter, there may be a clog in the system, and if not treated soon, water can really damage the foundation. Lastly, if your gutters sag or pull away from your home, it means they are full of water and are being pulled down by their weight.

Our gutter systems provide efficient water dispersal for even the most aggressive storm downpour.
